Tonight, I spent the night at my moms bedside, just holding her hand and telling her all the things that I should have told her over the years...and secretly feeding her little sips of gin; she smiles with each sip. 

It’s hard to watch the person who gave birth to you reach the end of her time.  My mom’s been a pillar of strength. She’s battled cancer for 14 years, and tonight she continues to fight, but a feeling inside me tells me that my place tonight is here, by her side. 

So as the morning sun begins to peak its way through the window blinds and introduce a new day, my mom continues to fight on.
